EXCLUSIVE: How mother who had her baby 'cut from the womb by former nurse's aide' did not know what had happened as she arrived at hospital with horrific injuries

·       Michelle Wilkins had her first baby 'expertly cut from womb by Dynel Catrece Lane' after going to her house to answer Craigslist ad

·       Wilkins was so shocked when she arrived at Longmont United Hospital, Colorado, that she still thought she was pregnant, Daily Mail Online told
·       Lane, 34, held on $2 million bail at Boulder County Jail in Colorado and due in court on Monday

·       Suspect allegedly lured Wilkins, originally from North Carolina, to Longmont home with ad for babyclothes then cut baby from her womb
·
The suspect's husband, David Ridley, found the baby in the bath and rushed his wife to hospital after she told him she had a miscarriage

·       A police report read: 'The person who did the incision would have to have researched the subject of Cesarean Births to achieve the level of accuracy'

·       Lane 'showed her daughters a sonogram picture in December and told them she was having a boy'

The mother-to-be who allegedly had her unborn baby ripped from her by a woman she had just met on Craiglist told nurses as she arrived at hospital: 'I’m seven months pregnant.'

A member of staff at Longmont United Hospital today told Daily Mail Online how Michelle Wilkins did not realize she had lost her baby to a maniac and still believed she was carrying her child.
Abby Johnson, 18, an intern at the hospital said the horrified woman, who had blood pouring from her stomach, pleaded for help and was concerned about the safety of the baby which had been due this Spring.

Johnson, speaking through her friend Gary Brennan, said Michelle was in 'a terrible state with her guts hanging out. She had been bleeding really badly.'
Wilkins, 26, arrived at the unit begging for help, and seemed not to know she had had her baby cut out from her.

Her cousin told ABC11 of Raleigh, North Carolina, that the baby was her first and would have been her parents' first grandchild.

Brennan, 29, speaking with her permission, added: 'It is a totally shocking incident and it has traumatized Abby who wants to be a nurse. But this has really shaken her.

‘It is a lot for somebody so young to witness and I feel sorry for her and for the woman who lost her child. It is just awful.’
The bereaved mother is in a critical but stable condition in hospital and is trying to cope with the 'unimaginable sorrow' of losing her child in such a horrific way, her family said on Thursday night. Her partner Dan - the couple were not married and his surname is not known - is at her bedside.
Tony Wilkins, her cousin, said that her parents, from North Carolina, were at her bedside. 'It is like something out of a horror movie,' he told ABC11.com. Wilkins was a graduate of Appalachian State University, in Boone, North Carolina.
'Michelle's always been a person who is kind hearted, a free spirit, has a love for all mankind, and I can't imagine what she's going through at this time,' he said.
'It's almost like a horror movie. Who would think that something like this would actually occur in real life.'
The baby died after suspect Dynel Catrece Lane, 34, took it to the hospital and told a staffer she had had a miscarriage, according to authorities.
Johnson said Lane had arrived at the hospital around 20 minutes earlier with the baby’s body, crying and saying: 'It’s all my fault. I am so sorry.'
The suspect told staff she had been pregnant, but had miscarried her child and repeatedly apologized to staff.
Abby said the baby was 'completely clean and washed and still had the umbilical chord attached, but the woman was covered in blood'.
She added: 'I was on my own and told her I could not be responsible for taking care of her and went to get help.
'She was covered in blood and kept saying she had miscarried.'
