Cardinal Forbidden To Say Mass: Coming Wednesday Cardinal Raymond Burke was supposed to celebrate an old-rite Mass in the Vienna parish church of St. Leopold which belongs to the very rich monastery of Klosterneuburg. But the Mass was cancelled. The provost of Klosterneuburg, Father Bernhard Backovsky has personally forbidden the local pastor to allow the Cardinal to celebrate.
The Doors to Hell: In an interview with laportelatine.org the superior general of the FSSPX, bishop Bernard Fellay, spoke about the recent Synod of Bishops. He agrees that sinners need help but – quote – “one does certainly not help them by telling them that there is an open door where, in reality, there is none. The door they are about to open is a door leading to hell.” And: “These prelates have received the power of the keys, that is to say, to open the doors to heaven, but they are about to close them and to open the doors to hell.”
Which Way? On October 28th archbishop Bruno Forte, the spokesman of the pro-gay group during the Synod of Bishops, held the inauguration speech at the University of Social & Medial Culture in ToruĊ, Poland, which belongs to famous Radio Marya. Forte said about the Synod: “During the debate on the divorced and remarried a minority of the bishops voiced the opinion that we should keep the Church doctrine as it always was, that remarried people should not get Communion. We all of course hold this view until the pope will decide otherwise. The other part of the bishops pleaded for the path of mercy. Holy Communion is not bread for perfect people, but for those who are on the way. Gloria.tv adds: Hopefully not on the way to hell.
He said, “Yes”: Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz of Warsaw, affirmed the question of the Catholic newspaper “Tygodnik Powszechny” whether he would repeat in public the statement of the Synod of Bishops that – quote – “homosexuals have to offer the Christian community gifts and qualities”. Nycz further sees no problem if Catholic parents of a practicing homosexual receive the gay-partner of their son at home.According to the New Testament homosexual acts are gravely sinful.

Cardinal Burke: A Sense of Disorientation in the Church
Go to the peripheries, yes, but not empty-handed, American prelate says
In yet another interview suggesting that a prominent American cardinal may be questioning some of Pope Francis’s policies and direction, Cardinal Raymond Burke recognized that there is a sense among the faithful that the Church is “like a ship without a helm.”
Yet, Cardinal Burke, Prefect of the Apostolic Signatura at the Vatican, said in the interview that he does not wish it appear like he is speaking out against Pope Francis.
Last month, the secular news aggregator BuzzFeed published an interview with the cardinal in which he was widely seen as criticizing the Pope. An organization with which the cardinal is affiliated and that set up the interview for BuzzFeed issued a statement , clarifying that the cardinal was not saying that Pope Francis had harmed the Church.
In the new interview, published by Spanish religious news weekly Vida Nueva, Cardinal Burke acknowledges that many have expressed their concerns to him about the direction the Church is taking under this pontificate.
“At this very critical moment, there is a strong sense that the Church is like a ship without a helm, whatever the reason for this may be,” the cardinal said, according to a translation on Vatican Insider. “Now, it is more important than ever to examine our faith, have a healthy spiritual leader and give powerful witness to the faith.”
Continuing with the sailing metaphor, the cardinal related that many people “are feeling a bit sea sick because they feel the Church’s ship has lost its bearings. We need to set aside the reason for this disorientation because we have not lost our bearings. We have the enduring tradition of the Church, its teachings, the liturgy, its morality. The catechism remains the same.”
Cardinal Burke said he agrees with Pope Francis when he speaks of the need of the Church to “go out to the peripheries” and bring the Gospel to those on the margins. “The people have responded very warmly to this” exhortation, he said. “But we cannot go to the peripheries empty-handed. We go with the Word of God, with the Sacraments, with the virtuous life of the Holy Spirit. I am not saying the Pope does this, but there is a risk of the encounter with culture being misinterpreted. Faith cannot adapt to culture but must call to it to convert. We are a countercultural movement, not a popular one.”
